Pokémon Yellow is the squel to Pokémon Red and Blue. Some new things that are in Pokémon Yellow that aren't in Pokémon Red and Blue are:

-New Pictures of the 151 pokémon in RBY.

-You can print Pokémon Pictures from your Pokédex via the Gameboy Printer.

-Your starter is Pikachu.

-If your Pikachu knows surf you can play a special mini game.

-Pokémon Yellow has some color. On a GBC there are 56 max. different colors displayed on screen.

-You can battle Team Rocket (Jesse and James) who will appear throughout the game.

-You can get Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle without having to choose.

-The Unknown Dungeon has been competely redone.

-Misty and Brock have the same clothes they have on TV.

-There is another coliseum called Coliseum 2 which only owners of Pokémon Yellow can use.

There are other things that have changed since Pokémon Red and Blue but these the best. The one change that I decided to to mention in the list because it is much better than the others is that Pikachu will follow you around outside of it's Pokéball just like on TV. You can catch it making faces. This is how you can tell if it's happy or not. Make sure it is happy because if it isn't you won't be able to get Charmander, Squrtle, and Bulbasaur. One last thing about Pikachu. It will not evolve into a Raichu unless you trade it to another version and either trade it back and then evolve it or evolve it there. However after doing so it wouldn't follow and who could not want to see Pikachu making faces.

Also your rival, Gary, has a new starter. Instead of it being the one that is strong agaisnt yours it is an eevee. Eevee can evolve 3 ways (more in later games) so by battling him you determine how it will evolve. If you beat Gary in the first two battles his eevee will evolve into a Jolteon. If you lose to gary in your first battle his eevee will evolve into Vaporeon. And if you beat him in your first battle and lose to him in your secound, or chicken out, it will evolve into a Vaporeon. So you can choose how his eevee will evolve.
