Back to New Bark Town
On your way back to New Bark Town be sure to heal your pokémon at the pokémon center in cherrygrove.
At the border of Cherrygrove City and Route 29, you are stopped by the person who as of now will be your rival. He has one of the pokémon Professor Elm offered to you. It couldn't be the same one, could it. What is terrible is that it is the one that is strong against yours.
After you beat him heal your pokémon at the pokémon center again and proceed to New Bark Town. When you get there you will find that there was a break in at Professor Elm's Laboratory. Your rival stole one of Professor Elm's pokémon. The police officer there will go investigate after you tell him your rival's name. You get to name him now, I named him Rival in my game but you may want to name him someone else.
After the police officer leaves, give the Mystery Egg to Professor Elm. Before you get the chance to leave his asistant will give you 5 pokéballs. Now you can catch pokémon.
After you leave Professor Elm's Lab go to your house to speak to your mother. She will give you the option to save 1/4 of the money you win.
You are probably asking yourself "is it worth it?" Well when you lose battles you are transported to the pokémon center and your pokémon have been fully healed. Unfortunately for this service you must pay with half of your current funds. So if you have 1/4 saved up you won't lose as much if you battle someone stronger than you. So I suggest you accept the offer.
Now leave New Bark Town and continue your pokémon adventure on Routes 30 & 31.
