| Finally, I have some time to update. Lately I have been really busy with school but now I shouldn't have as much to do in school nor do I have much to do on the weekend. So hopefully you guys will get some quality updates. I almost forgot, I just updated the next in japan picture. ^_^ |

| Just to let you know I'm a new news updater for this web site. Being one of those people lucky enough to have all the latest video games from Japan, watching all the latest of the Pokémon Anime in English and Japanese, getting all the latest Trading Cards in English and Japanese, general things like products and very fast news from Japan, all down to having Japanese friends and family, well, I hope I can help this fan site. I really thought I could make quite a long post out of introducing myself, but, well, it doesn't look like that. Hey anyway! |

| I just wanted to let everyone know I am working on a fan fiction section. If you wrote some fan fiction and want to see your fan fiction on Pokémon Fan Universe, there will be a submission form you can send it to me through. If anyone is wondering why I am working on this instead of working on the pokédex, it is because this is a little side project I decided to work on in addition to the pokédex. I decided to take my time and spend an hour coding it today. Tommorrow I will spent 30 more minutes coding it and then put it online. |

| Ok, I have had a long enough break. I will work on getting the pokédex up to specification 1.5. Specification 1.5 will meet my orignal vision for how much information the pokédex will have and how it would look. However I changed my mind about how far I was going to go with data when I heard that people were developing (meaning they are not done yet) pokédexes full of every bit of information known on every pokémon. So I created what will be the final specification, spec 2.0. I will start on that after I finsh 1.5. I am aiming to have a spec 1.5 compliant pokédex online around late march and spec 2.0 compliant pokédex online sometime in the summer. While I work on making the pokédex specification 1.5 compliant (I am not pushing anything back this time), why not support the site and tell your friends about it. You could just go to the tell a friend page and send them a simple server generated email through there. Well, now to get back to work on the pokédex. |

| The new top site list is back online so I put the top site list button back on the sidebar. Since I recently signed the site up for it, Pokémon Fan Universe should recieve the rank it deserves in a few days. |

| After doing alot of thinking. I have decided to push back locations and RS pictures to specification 1.5. Since at the rate I am going with locations I would be done with specification 1.0 by the time RS comes out unless I did. So the php pokédex is now at specification 1.0. |

| You guys have no idea how long it takes to debug something if you rushed it's development. I just spent 5 hours debugging code for the php pokédex I made in 2 hours. Anyway I thought you would like to see what will be new in specification 1.0 when it is done: -Statistics: Maximum Stats -Breeding compatibility -Pictures of RS Pokémon -Locations I am pretty sure you guys will like this when it's online. Now to get back to work on the php pokédex. |

Don't use the new top site list to judge the site yet, since it will require a few days before Pokémon Fan Universe recieves the rank it deserves. |

| I forgot to mention that I am also leaving out part of the statistics for each pokémon out (min/max status). Anyway, I am proud to anounce that the php pokédex is now online and it meets the 0.9 specification I put online yesterday. I probably should call it the lazy specification. Since I made it to take a break for a few days because of how tired I am. |

| I am finshing up the viewing engine on the PHP pokédex. I have decided to leave some things out for now. They are, breeding information, location information, and pictures. So I am making a brand new specification. It will be called the 0.9 specification. Before I release it, I will see if it's possible to merge a few tables. Hopefully, I will release it sometime tomorrow. Also, if any of you are wondering why this wasn't online today but mysteriously appeared tomorrow. It is because it is 11:59 right now. I am up late because I slept for 3 hours after school today. You will probably say: "What, school on a saturday?" My response would be: "Yeah, I just love school, I love it even more when it's a saturday Volleyball Clinic. ^_^" |

| Well it appears that inputting location data into the php pokédex will be the hard part. I will have to input each pokémon's entry for each video game. 251*6=1506 That means I have to look up the information to hand type 1506 entries. I just started on location data about 45 minutes ago. I have done 33 entries so far. Only 1473 left to go. If I don't get this done soon I will just release it without the locations since I don't want to have a single element of it keeping you guys from using it. What makes me want to cry is that when RS comes out I will have to add 1582 entries to the location data. Not to mention I will have to update my list of town names. Then when I work on making it specification 2.0 compliant I will have to redo the entire thing... With a ton of more information! That would amount to tens of thousands of entries. Oh well, now to get back to work. |

| I have been so busy with school or the php pokédex lately, I am obviously missing some news. Such as the fact that you can preorder Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire from pokémoncenter.com and get a ton of free gifts. So I have set it up so more than one person can update. I hope to recruit some of the staff members on the board, some friends or acciquntances. If that doesn't work, I will ask for volunteers here. Anyway since I set that up, I had to archive the news from the first of the month to yesterday in order to save it from being lost. You can find it in the archive, here. |
| 2/10/2003: Sorry there haven't been many updates lately. I have been working day and night to finsh the php pokédex. Since I both know it will take months at this rate and want to get something out the door as they say. I will slightly change my internal roadmap for the pokédex's development. Orignally, I had planned to have 251 entries as detailed as the bulbasaur one in the html pokédex. Then I changed my plans with the anouncement of the specifications of a pokédex another site will have in the future. Now I decided to have 3 different specifications, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0. The version 1.0 spec compliant php pokédex will have 251 entries as detailed as the bulbasaur one in the html pokédex and will come out as soon as possible. The version 1.5 spec compliant php pokédex will add pokémon 252-386 soon after the US version of Ruby and Sapphire comes out. The version 2.0 spec compliant php pokédex will be a next generation pokédex with every bit of information on every pokémon that exists. I will not predict when it will be done nor will I say the specifications because it will take months of coding php 24/7 to make the pokédex meet them and due to the fact that I will be here all day defining them when I could be making the php pokédex meet version 1.0's specifications so you guys get to have an online pokédex. So now to get back to coding the php pokédex. ^_^ |
| 2/8/2003: Luckily, what I had appears to have been a 24 hour virus. So I am fine now. I just did some more work on the future php pokédex. I am aiming to have it done before RS comes out in the US. Hopefully, I will be able to finsh it by then. |
| 2/7/2003: Of all days, I had to get sick on the first snowday in the school year... Anyway today I made some progress on the future php pokédex. When the pokédex is done, everyone will be able to get a wealth of information on any pokémon. I can't wait. |
| 2/6/2003: Apparently, cartoon network is not going by the episode numbers anymore. So I can't rely on them. -_- Anyway I made a small update to the cartoon network TV Schudule so it would have the correct name of the episode that aired today. It isn not something to get excited about since I made a minor change. Expect a larger update on the cartoon network schedule when I have time. Which is ironically tomorrow. ^_^ |
| 2/6/2003: Sorry there haven't been many updates lately. School has been really getting the way and there hasn't been much news until now. Pokémon Ruby is being called one of the hottest games today on a site known as GameSpot. Not for anything but it is at the top of the hotest games list... Also on a seperate list called the "Most Popular Game Boy Advance Games" list, Pokémon Sapphire is #2. I doubt many pokémon fans go there through, since there are so many sites dedicated to just pokémon, which people go to, such as this one. Which is most likely the only reason it is not #1 on their chart. |
| 2/2/2003: A fan just sent in the english name for pokémon food in RS. It is called PokéBlock. The japanese translation however is Plock. I will change the pages in the RS section to have the english name in the near future. |
| 2/1/2003: I almost forgot, it's time for a new section of the month. Pokémon Gold and Silver will be the section of the month of Febuary. |
| 2/1/2003: As you might have noticed, I made some changes to the sidebars. Now there is a next in japan image on the right with the name and number of the episode. Plus the site roadmap has been moved to the left sidebar. I am trying to eliminate the cluttery feel of the right sidebar. Who knows maybe a revamp is in order... |

| 2/1/2003: It appears that audio clip I uploaded eariler today doesn't work on windows XP. It seems that microsoft's software can't tell the difference between a sampler CD and a soundtrack. -_- Anyway, if it doesn't work for you, don't worry, I am working on it. |
