Rumors

People have been and still are spreading rumors about the Pokémon games. Here, I hope to shed some light on a few of the many rumors going around on the internet.

You can get MewThree by...

MewThree does not exist and you can not get it in the game. It is not even in the game's coding.

You can catch Mew/Celebi by...

You can not catch Mew in the game. The only way to get Mew/Celebi is to recieve it from Nintendo at a special event or from the Pokémon Center at certain times of the year.

You can catch Pikablu by...

There is no such thing as Pikablu. It was made up by fans when pictures of Marill first appeared long before Gold and Silver came out.

You can get something by doing <insert task here> several dozen/hundred/thousand/million times...

Well, it is slightly pointless to do things over and over and over again unless you are raising your pokémon. So this is a dead give away that it is a rumor.

You can get a secret badge and/or become a gym leader by...

These are rumors. Both are impossible.

You can get all of the various pokémon that your cartridge can have by...

There is no easy way to get every single pokémon there is. The only way is to train, capture and trade, which believe me is not easy. Although it's fun. ^_^

You can get pokémon that were introduced in a newer game by...

This is impossible. If the pokémon debuted in a newer game, then the older game would not have the code in it's Read Only Memory file to store the pokémon without it becoming just like missingno. (extremely dangerous glitch).

You can get hidden pokémon called the Pokégods...

There is absolutely no such thing as Pokégods. Who ever tells you this is playing a joke on you for laughs. Just start laughing and walk away.

You can go to the Orange Islands by...

The orange islands were in the TV Show only. The TV Show is completely different than the games. As with all other rumors, do not believe it.

You can save more than one save file on...

Sorry but you can only save 1 save file on any pokémon game. I doubt it would ever change. Even with RS, you may only make 1 save file. There is no way to make two.

You can get/do whatever by doing <insert task here> at an exact time...

This is a rumor. In RBY time does not have any effect on the game. In GSC there are a few things that time has an influence on but it is not an exact time. To find out a list of events that occur at specific times/days in GSC, click here. As for RS, I don't know yet since this update was made before RS came/comes out in the US.

Nintendo develops the pokémon games...

This is a rumor. Nintendo does not develop the pokémon games, Game Freak does. Nintendo however manufacters the games and licensed the rights to create pokémon video games to Game Freak. In RBY and GSC at the Celadon Mansion, I believe there is the pokémon equalient of the Game Freak office. They state they developed pokémon there.
